Opening hours and exceptions

Regular Opening Hours:

  • Monday – Wednesday: 10:00 – 17:00
  • Thursday (Extended night): 10:00 – 20:00
  • Friday: 10:00 – 17:00
  • Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00

Notice for Visitors:

Ticket sales close one hour before the science centre closes. Outdoor Science Park Galilei is open during the summer season (May to September).

Tickets and price list

Advance tickets are €3 cheaper online than at the ticket office. Tickets include access to all exhibitions and planetarium films on the day of the visit.

Arrival instructions

By Train (Recommended):

Science Center is located right next to Tikkurila train station. All commuter trains (I, P, K, R, Z) and long-distance trains stop at Tikkurila. From the station, walk across the pedestrian bridge through Väritehtaanranta. Walking time is just 3 minutes!

By Car & Parking:

The parking area is located on Kuninkaalantie. When setting up GPS navigation, use the following address:

Kuninkaalantie 5, 01300 Vantaa

Parking is subject to a fee with EasyPark or ParkMan. Disabled parking spaces are located immediately adjacent to the entrance (parking free of charge with valid disability parking card).

By Bicycle:

Science Center can be reached via scenic cycling paths running along the Keravanjoki river. Bike racks are located outside the main entrance. A Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) city bike station is situated right in front of Science Center.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the planetarium shows included in the ticket price? ↓

Yes! All regular admission tickets include free entry to planetarium films, subject to seat availability. We recommend booking your tickets in advance to reserve your preferred screening time.

Can I bring my own food and snacks? ↓

Yes! Science Center has designated indoor eating areas equipped with microwaves and tables on the lower floor. You can also eat packed lunches outdoors in Science Park Galilei during the warmer season.

Is Science Center accessible with wheelchairs and strollers? ↓

Yes, all exhibition areas, restrooms, the restaurant, and the planetarium are fully accessible. Elevators and ramps connect all levels. Wheelchairs and strollers can also be borrowed free of charge from the cloakroom.

How long should I budget for a visit? ↓

Most visitors spend 3 to 4 hours exploring Science Center. If you plan to attend multiple planetarium screenings, laboratory workshops, and enjoy lunch at the Science Restaurant, you can easily spend the whole day!
